Carol Wallbank is a highly versatile, eternally energetic and extremely capable manager, in all of the capacities in which I have seen her function in the media. Putting together a daily, one hour, truly live-to-air television program with an average of five guests per day along with news, weather and sports, is a considerable task for a studio-backed, fully funded professional production organisation. The fact that Wake Up WA was produced for more than 500 episodes, with no funding, utilising volunteer trainees is primarily due to Carol’s tenacity, optimism and ability to overcome any adversity with impressive efficiency and unwavering enthusiasm. (and being prepared to wake up at 4 am every morning!) With multiple national awards and recognition among peers, Carol was able to produce a television show that was watched by tens of thousands of people daily, and which only went off the air because of Access 31’s closure in Perth. She helped realise the aspirations of dozens of WA’s media hopefuls, many of whom have progressed to commercial television.
I thoroughly and wholeheartedly recommend Carol as a person who is dependable, reliable and thorough in the effective execution of a task, with the rare ability to remain personable, friendly and positive at all times.
